I had noticed the funnel cake truck on previous visits to the farm but it never seemed to be open. This was probably due to the fact that I went to the farm in the middle of the week. On a Saturday morning while scrolling through social media I saw it. The wonderful post from Mick Farms announcing they had funnel cakes. I immediately messaged them to make sure it would be open all day so I could show up after work and they said they would be. My heart was happy and I eagerly awaited the end of my shift.
Mick Farms funnel cake did not disappoint.
I first had to run home and grab my husband because there was no way I could finish a funnel cake by myself. I’m lying to you. I could, I shouldn’t. I guess there is a difference. As we waited for our funnel cake to come out of the fryer there was a gentleman cutting fresh picked strawberries to top it off with. I know from first hand experience that the strawberries from Mick Farms are divine. On top of having a funnel truck they also have a U-pick strawberry field. If you are not into picking your own you can always buy them from the farm stand.
When I finally had the drool worthy funnel cake in my possession I photographed it because that’s what I do. My husband was not pleased since I swatted his fork way from the pristine funnel cake before he could snag a piece.
People think soup on a cold day is divine but really warm funnel cake and a cold day is perfection.
The funnel cake was warm and sweet. It was perfectly cooked to that soft yet borderline crunchy consistency. The strawberries were a perfect addition and the whip cream tied it all together. If funnel cakes weren’t so fattening I might eat them everyday.
After enjoying every little bite of our funnel cake we stopped at the farm stand for some fresh vegetables to make homemade tortilla soup with. The funnel cake was the clear winner for most delicious item we ate but the soup wasn’t bad either.
If you would like to head out to Mick Farms you can find more information about them on their website and Facebook page. The family that runs it is seriously one of the nicest families I have met! You can also come out to the Spring at the Farm event April 4th to shop their fresh picked produce and as well as shopping from some of Central Florida’s local vendors.
