If you’ve never sought out a local bakery near you, please go now. Like don’t bother finishing this post, it will be here when you return with your fresh baked heaven. I promise, I will wait. Or yah know, this digital personification me will anyways….
Back with your bread? Great! So, the bread that inspired these photos is from a local bakery and sweet shop duo. Diany’s Fresh Breads partnered with Savvy Sweets to work together providing fresh baked cookies and breads. (If you’re local, they also have coffee and cinnamon rolls courtesy of an additional partnership with Esther) My history with these girls goes back to when I started selling jewelry locally and I literally traded earrings for croutons on market nights and that was dinner. I have also purchased baked goods from these girls for tea parties and to fuel my addiction of their Dunker cookies on a monthly basis. This bread will also be making an appearance at my family Christmas Party this year. (I adore these girls in case you aren’t getting the hint)
Back to the bread… I wanted to start this little creative journey focusing on food and products that are locally sourced or I make them. Because I currently have no time to make and this was a great excuse to buy more bread from the bread Goddess Diany, here we are. I opted for the tomato and basil loaf for these images. I wanted to play around with using fresh vegetables and herbs in the photos but also make it feel festive. Green and red are pretty solid color options for holiday festiveness this time of year.
Because I’m crazy and I know for a fact I shouldn’t eat the whole loaf of bread in one sitting, I made croutons out of part of the bread. I feel like a little duck eating them out of the bag. Knowing that they are not a nutritious meal and they will make me look pregnant because gluten intolerance but man they are so tasty I don’t care. I drink water with them, that makes it ok right?
Looking to turn bread into croutons? That recipe will be up soon. If you’re willing to wing it and hope for the best the basics include cutting up your bread into squares and baking long and slow. Looking for the most tastiest bread in Central Florida? You can pre-order bread here or stop into their shop to get your hands on some. I highly suggest a bread + dunker combo. Eat the dunkers in the car. You will thank me later.
